不過話說回來，又有傳言說，我打算因為「他」而離開你呢！
歌曲大意：
女主角因男朋友有了「小三」而棄她而去，原因只是「小三」比男主角年輕一半（顯然喜歡幼齒不是東方人的專利）。不過，沒多久男主角就體認到女主角（前女友）的好，而開始回過頭來偷偷摸摸的找她（腳踏兩條船、劈腿）。結果，女主角會同意繼續與男主角交往（吃回頭草），是因為她是有計畫性的要挽回他，但是別被女主角的虛情假意給騙了，好戲還在後頭，挽回男主角的用意是想要玩弄他，要讓他嘗嘗被人劈腿的痛苦。
整首歌藉由「傳言、八卦」來塑造虛虛實實、真真假假的情節，最後一句話才是最經典：傳言說我另結新歡要離你而去了！
[單字註解]
[1] ain’t是黑人英語，相當於am/is/are+not的縮寫，在此代替isn’t。real (adj) 真實的、正宗的、真誠的。
[2] gonna是going to的口語縮寫，ain’t gonna = is not going to將不能。be able to+原v＝能夠。like (conj) 像（=as）。不說like I do而說like I will是因為will又多了「願意（be willing to）」的含意。
[3] stranger (n) 陌生人，此指「不是很瞭解的人」。
[4] history本指「歷史」，此指共同經歷過的一些日子、事情等等，也可說have a history。
[5] remember (v) 記住。don’t是do not的縮寫，do是無義助動詞，接not幫助一般動詞形成否定句。Don’t you remember?是否定疑問句。
[6] sure (adv) 當然。she’s是she has的縮寫，has+pp=現在完成式，got是get（獲得）的過去分詞(pp)，has got已經獲得。it代替的東西不詳，all (pron) 全部，it all＝all of it可能泛指「一切東西」，有人譯作「全世界」。
[7] but (conj) 可是。baby寶貝、心肝，用來稱呼心愛的人。that那個，當主詞。really (adv) 真的。what是關係代名詞，相當於the thing(s) which/that。want (v) 想要，what you want你所想要的(東西、事情)
[8] bless (v) 祝福，soul (n) 靈魂。bless your soul用來引出一段你覺得諷刺、荒謬而且不相信的言論。you’ve是you have的縮寫，have got＝have有。have one’s head in the clouds是片語，字面上是「頭在雲層裡」，引申為「有不切實際的想法、失神或心不在焉」。head頭，cloud雲。
[9] make (v) 造就、使成為，原本句型是make A of B＝使B變成A，如make a fool of you＝讓你變傻瓜，但口語時很多人會加上out，out of可表示來源。
[10] boy在此是表示驚訝的感嘆詞。bring down在各家的字典解釋不盡相同，有「帶…下來、打倒、使人失望」，在Webster線上字典找到「使沮喪」的用法。
[11] made是make的過去式，make+受詞+原v＝讓…。melt (v) 熔化、變柔軟。heart (n) 心。
[12] cold (adj) 冷淡的、不友善的。core本指「核心」，to the core（到核心）引申為「十足、徹底」。
[13] rumor (n) 謠言，常用句型＝rumor has it (that)+子句＝有傳言說…（= people say that+子句）。it是假受詞，真受詞是that子句。
[14] 這裡的ain’t相當於hasn’t。hasn’t got＝doesn’t have沒有。not…anymore再也不。
[15] half (adj) 一半、半數。age (n) 年齡。half your age你年齡的一半。
[16] guess (v) 猜想。that那個。reason理由、原因，後面的that帶領關係子句當adj修飾reason，這個that可省略。strayed是stray的過去式，stray原指「偏離正軌」，此指「對配偶不忠、搞外遇」。
[17] heard是hear（聽說）的過去式，句型＝hear (that)+子句。you’ve是you have的縮寫。have been missing＝現在完成進行式＝一直在想念，miss (v) 想念。
[18] have been telling一直告訴，tell+人+事＝tell事to人＝告訴某人某事。people人們，thing事情。(that) you shouldn’t be是關係子句當adj修飾things，要加上doing意思才完整。should應該，助v，故後加原v。things you shouldn’t be doing你不應該做的事。
[19] like (prep) 像。when (conj) 當…的時候。creep (v) 躡手躡腳地移動，out (adv) 外出。ain’t在此等於isn’t。around (adv) 在周圍、在身邊。

[22] the one那一個人，後面是形容詞子句修飾它，前面省略了who/that。leave (v) 離開，are leaving打算離開，是用現在進行式代替未來式，表「計畫好的未來」。leave her for the one為了那個人離開她，for (prep) 為了。
[23] all (pron) 全部。all of+名詞＝全部的…。word複數時可當「話語」。whispered是which/that were whispered（被輕聲說）的省略，whispered是過去分詞(pp)帶領片語修飾words。whisper (v) 耳語、小聲說、私下說。ear耳朵。
[24] tell的主詞是all of these words。tell a story說故事。that帶領關係子句當adj修飾story，that可省略。cannot不能。bear to+原v＝bear+Ving＝忍受做…。hear聽見。
[25] 「just because+A子句, (it) doesn’t mean+B子句」是口語常用的句型「只因為A屬實，並不代表B也屬實」，但正式寫作時最好避免。it don’t mean的don’t算是黑人英語。meant是mean的過去式，mean還有「當真、存心」之意，I meant it.我是當真的。
[26] people泛指一般人，say(說)在此用現在式表平常的習慣、常態。crazy (adj) 瘋狂的、不理智的。
